breakfast in bed

I was up from 3-5am, just couldn't sleep. So now I'm a bit tired. I woke up to Addy bringing me a bowl of yogurt and strawberries, which she had cut up. How she blesses.

Summer/Fall 2012

There's a kabillion pics here. Or at least a million. A lot. They're long overdue and there's probably duplicates from other posts. Everything's out of order so don't think it'll make much chronological sense and one day I'll try to write out a few stories about some of these trips and pictures. But until then, enjoy those smiling faces!

Fall 2012

I have to explain this hat. This was Joey's hat 2 years ago. He found it in a closet I was cleaning out and LOVES it. He looks like an absolute goof but I actually love when he wears it now because he gets his "baby" look back. Oh, sweet Joey. He's a bit crazy these days but that sweet face...

Apple cider donut...gone.

Our weekend at sea (St. Andrews, Canada)

Canada, cont...

So Dude's face doesn't reflect it, BUT...he had so much fun. He was off leash for much of the weekend and loved it.

The cottage on the far left was ours. It looks like a muddy, rocky beach but at high tide the water comes right to the treeline, so we were basically strolling the ocean bottom :)

In Concord & Canada

Old North Bridge in Concord - the first exchange of the Revolution in 1775
This is after they heard the musket shot from a reenactment

It's not everyday you walk past a rebel minuteman...

Walking through Ralph Waldo Emerson's Old Manse next to North Bridge

This is the beginning of our trip to St.Andrews in New Brunswick, Canada. We stayed in a little cottage by the sea and it was quiet and peaceful and lovely. The first day was overcast and perfect for walking through the woods and sloshing through mud puddles. It was a weekend when yes replaced no and hours outdoors felt like a long breath of much needed fresh air.

The kids had so much fun climbing these giant rock formations...they extended along the entire coastline

The picture doesn't do it justice, but I thought this was so cool. These giant tree roots look like they could be natural modern art work on some giant wall of a fancy smancy hotel
